Position Description
We are currently seeking a Family Practice Physician Assistant for a locum tenens role in North Carolina for a 240 day assignment starting August 4, 2025 covering the Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm shift. This position requires a skilled provider to manage a range of duties including conducting physical exams, patient teaching, and home health visits. - Provider Type Needed: Family Practice Physician Assistant
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with an hour rest period
Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct health histories and physical exams
- Provide patient education
- Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory tests
- Travel for home health visits as required
- Perform selected medical procedures
- Document all patient care activities
- Initiate emergency measures and manage urgent patient situations
- Evaluate, review, and modify medication orders and diagnostic studies
- Assess and coordinate daily patient care under physician supervision
- Request consultations from other medical services
- Act as liaison among physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Participate in staff meetings and patient care planning
- Support and promote the PACE mission and values within the healthcare setting
Additional Information
- Required Licenses: Physician Assistant license in NC
- Other Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Experience: At least 1 year of geriatric experience preferred
- EMR Used: PACElogic
